Abstract Submissions

Call for Abstracts

  • Abstract submission deadline: Abstracts will be accepted until August 29, 2025.
  • Oral presentation deadline: Abstracts must be submitted by July 21, 2025.

We are pleased to invite abstract submissions for the Global CMT Research Convention. Submissions are welcome in all areas of CMT research and clinical findings, including:

  • Foundational Biology
  • Preclinical Research
  • Drug Discovery
  • Clinical Trials
  • Clinical Management
  • Other

During the submission process, please indicate if you would like your abstract to be considered for any of the following presentation formats (select all that apply):

  • Poster presentation
  • Oral presentation — Thursday
  • Oral presentation — Friday
The first author (presenting author) will receive all future correspondence from CMTRF regarding the abstract.

  • Notifications for oral presentations will be sent by August 4, 2025.
  • Notifications for poster presentations will be sent by September 3, 2025.

Please structure your abstract using the following headings:

  • Objective
  • Background
  • Design/Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Title limit: 150 characters (including spaces). Abstract body limit: 300 words

We kindly ask that all authors adhere strictly to the submission guidelines to ensure consideration. Abstracts that do not conform to the required format may not be accepted for review. Thank you for your commitment to advancing CMT research. We look forward to reviewing your work.

Young Researcher Innovation Forum

The CMT Research Foundation recognizes that transformative breakthroughs often emerge from bold, innovative thinking — and that such thinking frequently comes from the rising generation of scientific leaders.

The Young Researcher Innovation Forum offers a unique opportunity for early-career investigators — including newly appointed professors, postdoctoral researchers, pre-doctoral students and others who identify as young investigators — to discuss key challenges in CMT drug development and collaborate on innovative, solution-driven approaches to overcome them.

Young investigators from academia and industry are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives to this highly interactive event.

Join us on Thursday, September 25th, tentatively at 1 PM at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA, to: 

  • Explore the most pressing barriers to progress in CMT research and therapeutic development
  • Engage in collaborative problem-solving with peers and senior leaders in the field
  • Learn about the Young Researcher Innovation Grant eligibility and requirements

Forum attendees can apply for $1,200 travel stipends to cover the costs of attending both the forum and the Global CMT Research Convention immediately following. Forum attendees that do not receive travel stipends will be given free admission to the Global CMT Research Convention (a $150 value). Travel stipends will be prioritized for attendees presenting poster and/or oral presentations at the Global CMT Research Convention, but all applicants are eligible.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in person for deeper engagement and networking. Spots are limited — be sure to register early! Registration closes on August 29, 2025.
