2026 Global CMT Research Convention

Emerging Researcher Forum

Emerging Researcher Forum

The CMT Research Foundation recognizes that transformative breakthroughs often emerge from bold, innovative thinking — and that such thinking frequently comes from the rising generation of scientific leaders.

The Emerging Researcher Forum offers a unique opportunity for early-career investigators — including newly appointed professors, postdoctoral researchers, pre-doctoral students and others who identify as young investigators — to discuss key challenges in CMT drug development and collaborate on innovative, solution-driven approaches to overcome them.

Young investigators from academia and industry are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives to this highly interactive event.

Join us on Thursday, September 24th, at 11 AM at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA, to:

  • Explore the most pressing barriers to progress in CMT research and therapeutic development
  • Engage in collaborative problem-solving with peers and senior leaders in the field
  • Learn about the Emerging Researcher Award Grant eligibility and requirements

Forum attendees can apply for a travel stipend of up to $1,200 to cover the costs of attending both the forum and the Global CMT Research Convention immediately following. Forum attendees that do not receive travel stipends will be given free admission to the Global CMT Research Convention (a $150 value). Travel stipends will be prioritized for attendees presenting poster and/or oral presentations at the Global CMT Research Convention, but all applicants are eligible.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in person for deeper engagement and networking. Spots are limited — be sure to register early! Registration closes on September 8, 2026.
